Born in 1979, in Portugal, into a family of shoemakers and factory owners, I’ve spent more than 20 years working on design pattern and shoemaking - a passionate enthusiast in these areas, but always looking for the right project to make my own. Now, at age 45, I’ve found it; combining shoemaking with my hobby and love of vintage motorcycles. It sta ed when I was looking high and low for the perfect boots and sneakers to wear whilst riding. It was difficult, and so the idea naturally came to me that I needed to make my own motorcycle shoe brand. I saw a gap in the market for comfortable, yet durable footwear, with the highest safety standards and a proper retro look to fit my vintage motorcycle. It’s a gap I knew how to fill and, after a lot of design, labour and love, “Fovel -1979  Craftsmanship for life!” was born.
